Privacy Policy

Calendout ("the App", "we", "us", or "our") is an offline arcade game that can turn events from your current calendar week into a Breakout-style game board. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles information.

1. Summary

The App does not require an account and does not use developer-operated servers, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics, or social features. Calendar data is accessed only after you grant permission and is processed locally on your device to create gameplay.

2. Calendar Access

If you choose the iOS Calendar mode, the App requests full access to calendar events through Apple EventKit. The App reads events from the current week, including information such as event titles, dates, start and end times, all-day status, calendar colors, and whether an event is canceled or belongs to a holiday calendar.

This calendar information is used only on your device to draw the weekly game board, position event blocks, identify non-breakable all-day holidays, and provide game mechanics. The App does not upload, transmit, sell, or share your calendar events with us or third parties.

3. Developer Calendar Mode

The App includes a Developer Calendar mode with built-in fictional events. This mode does not require calendar permission and does not access your personal calendars.

4. Information Stored on Your Device

The App stores limited preferences and progress locally using standard iOS storage. This may include onboarding completion, haptic settings, achievements, achievement dates, score milestones, and game progress. This information remains on your device and is not sent to us.

5. Purchases

Calendout is sold for a one-time price through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the purchase and may provide us with aggregated sales or transaction-status information. We do not receive or store your full payment card details. The App does not include subscriptions, in-app purchases, advertising, or paid feature unlocks.

6. Support Communications

If you contact us by email, we receive the information you voluntarily include, such as your email address, device details, screenshots, and support message. We use this information only to respond to your request and resolve support issues. Do not send calendar contents or other sensitive information unless it is necessary for your request.

7. Tracking, Analytics, and Third Parties

The App does not track you across apps or websites and does not access an advertising identifier. It does not include third-party advertising or analytics SDKs. Apple may independently process App Store purchases, downloads, crash reports, or diagnostics according to your device settings and Apple’s own privacy terms.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Calendar data is read when needed for gameplay and is not retained on developer-operated servers. Local preferences and achievements remain on your device until you reset or delete the App. You can revoke calendar permission at any time in iOS Settings. Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to handle the request, maintain support records, or comply with legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your support correspondence by contacting us.

9. Children’s Privacy

The App does not knowingly collect personal information from children. Calendar access should be enabled only by the device owner or a person authorized to manage the device. If you believe personal information has been sent to us by a child, contact us so we can review and delete it.

10. Security

The App is designed to keep calendar processing and gameplay data on your device. No method of electronic storage is completely secure, but limiting processing to the device reduces exposure. You should keep your device and iOS version updated and protect access to your device.

11. International Users

Support emails may be processed in the country where we or our email provider operate. Where applicable, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information you have sent to support, or to object to or restrict its processing.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the App or applicable requirements change. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. If a future version adds online services, analytics, advertising, or new data handling, this policy and the App Store privacy information will be updated.
